So the
countdown begins! For two years I have planned, waited, and watched as my
dream of traveling abroad to another country has finally come true. Yes, 11 days from now I will pack up the rest of my belongings, say good bye to my mom and board a plane
for the Emerald Isle.
It’s
bittersweet, over the past couple of days I’ve felt a sinking pain in the pit
of my stomach growing with each passing day. I don’t want to say goodbye to my
mom I don't want to leave my cat or my friends. But I know after that goodbye and when I land the adventure will begin!!!!
I guess I should
tell you a little more about myself; more than that---> little blurb over there. It’s been
my mom and I for the past 14 years, and I wouldn’t have it any other way, she
put me through high school and got me off the college two years ago. And now, here
I am, 11 days from traveling to Ireland for an entire year.
So where
will I be studying? I’m glad you asked.
The University
of Limerick was established in 1972 as a National Institute for Higher
Education. They serve over 12,000 students and have 1,400 dedicated staff
members. It is quote “A young, energetic and enterprising university with a
proud record of innovation in education and excellence in research and
scholarship.” Limerick has a wide range of courses and the campus is set
alongside the Shannon River.
While away,
I’m studying English which includes: Studies in Irish Poetry, Studies of a
Major Irish Author, Intro to Literary Theory, Intro to Irish Music and Dance
and much more.
That’s all
for now, welcome to my blog, please follow me if you would like updates!
I can't wait to read all about your Irish adventures (and pretend I'm out having fun with you instead of sitting in front of a computer in Oregon)! After our talk at RYLA about all the places you've traveled I put "take an international trip every four years" on my life goals list. Nothing planned yet, but if Ireland is as awesome as you make it sound that may be my first trip!
ReplyDeleteHope you have tons of fun!
